How do you begin using WinFormResizer?
Posted: 21 Oct 06 10:16 AM

Hi,

What is the best way to begin applying WinFormResizer to an existing project?

How about a new project?

Thanks,

Ed

Thank you for your query.

"What is the best way to begin applying WinFormResizer to an existing project?"

Adding WinFormResizer to your existing project is as simple as dragging and dropping the WinFormResizer Toolbox item (see The WinFormResizer Toolbox Item below) onto each of the forms in your existing project:

"How about a new project?"

Adding WinFormResizer to a new project is identical to adding WinFormResizer to an existing project. In fact you can add WinFormResizer to any form and at any point during the life of a project.

The WinFormResizer Toolbox Item

The WinFormResizer setup application creates a Visual Studio Toolbox item for the component like the one shown below:

This Toolbox item may not exist if the toolbox has been reset using the "Reset Toolbox" command after installing WinFormResizer:

Or the "WinFormResizer Component" tab was deleted:

The "WinFormResizer Component" toolbox tab can manually be rebuild as follows:
  1. Right click on the Toolbox and select "Add Tab" from the popup menu:

  2. Set the new tab's name to "WinFormResizer Component":

  3. Right click on the Toolbox and select "Choose Items..." from the popup menu:

  4. Select "WinFormResizer" from the "Choose Toolbox Items" dialog and click on the [OK] button.
